The Cascade Z Lacrosse Helmet is the most advanced helmet Cascade has ever built — and it changes everything. The Z introduces the first flip-up facemask in lacrosse history, combining elite-level protection and class-leading comfort with a groundbreaking sideline experience. The Official Helmet of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL).
Designed for elite adult men’s field lacrosse players who want the highest level of protection, the best fit system Cascade has ever built, and the ability to refuel, communicate, and recover on the sideline without removing their helmet. If you’ve been in the XRS Pro or SL, the Z is a direct upgrade in every dimension of the helmet experience. Available in both player and goalie configurations.
FlipTek is Cascade’s first-of-its-kind flip-up facemask system. To activate, press the two buttons on the sides of the mask — the mask rotates up, giving you instant access to hydrate, rest, and connect on the sidelines without removing your helmet. When you’re ready to go back on the field, pull the mask down and you’ll hear two audible clicks confirming it’s locked back in place and game-ready. The entire system is operable with lacrosse gloves on.
The Z Lateral Impact System is an all-new protection technology designed specifically for the Cascade Z helmet that improves lateral impact absorption compared to previous Cascade helmets. It builds upon the advanced protection engineering you already expect from Cascade — the brand trusted by the world’s best players — and extends it to better handle the high-speed side impacts common in elite field lacrosse.
No — the Z is a brand new addition to the Cascade lineup, not a replacement. The XRS Pro, XRS Youth, SL, CPV-R, and CSR remain in the lineup. The Z is a new experience built on top of the existing range, designed for adult players looking for the most advanced helmet Cascade has ever made.
Yes — the Cascade Z has been certified to the relevant NOCSAE standards and meets all requirements for sanctioned NCAA, NFHS, and Lacrosse Canada men’s field lacrosse play. Note: the goalie version with throat protector secures the mask in place and does not flip up during play.
